From the preface of the music: "In spite of the most assiduous, the editor of the Concertino No. II has been unsuccessful in establishing whether it, togther with Concertini Nos. I, III-IV, is the work of Ricciotti, Pergolesi, or a third unknown composer. As long as the original manuscript remains undiscovered, the authorship will be shrouded in mysterious obscurity."
