Albinoni-Giazotto
Adagio
Strings and Organ
Manager's Note: Wikipedia notes that Giazotto, a musicologist, "arranged (1949) the famous Adagio in G minor based on a fragment of the bass part of the composition by Albinoni in 1945, discovered in Dresden State Library shortly after the Second World War (at that time, he was also completing his biography and catalogue). The fragment contained only the bass line and is believed to have been the slow movement of a trio sonata or concerto." This is thus the only selection labelled "baroque", "contemporary" and "urtext".

S453 arr. Isaac, 1st and 2nd movements
Symphonic Section No. 4
Manager's Note: the "2nd movement" mentioned here is the ending Allegro.
In some editions, a Adagio second movement of solo violin and basso continuo precedes the closing Allegro, as recorded by Arthur Grumiaux on EMI.
In other cases, it is either ommited as it is in the arrangement by Merle J. Isaac, or a short cadencial section of two chords connects the two fast movements, as is with the Peters edition.

Lion of Lucerne (Overture)
Jenson Pub.
From Notes to the Director:
"During the French Revolution, most of the Swiss Guards were killed while defending the royal palace in Paris from attack by an angry mob. The memory of these Swiss Guards were preserved in the famous sculpture "Lion Of Lucerne". The composer had the opportunity of seeing the sculpture in the summer of 1985. He was so taken with this magnificent sculpture that he decided to write an overture to attempt to capture the spirit of the sculpture and the story behind its creation."

Griffes, Charles Tomlinson
Music by C.T. Griffes: Two Birds Flew into the Sunset Glow, Mir War Als Müsste Ich Graben, It Was the Time of Flowers, Gedicht um Heine.
Manager's Note:
Included in this file is a promotional note of a concert at Indiana University, dated May 4, but with no year. In it, it is stated that the concert would include "unpublished and previously unperformed works" of the composer in question. The note goes on to say that that the music was discovered by a graduate student, Donna K. Anderson while doing preliminary research on Griffes.
Donna K. Anderson went on to earn her Ph.D. in musicology from I.U. and become a world-wide expert on Griffes, retiring from SUNY Cortland in 1977, leading the Manager to speculate that the note dates back at least 50 years.
